Abstract

IDI is a composite indicator that shows the level of development of democracy in Indonesia. The level of achievement is measured based on the implementation and development of three aspects of democracy, namely Civil Freedom, Political Rights and the Institution of Democracy.
  • The IDI calculation methodology uses 4 data sources, namely: (1) local newspaper review, (2) document review (Perda, Pergub, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews.
  • The Indonesia Democracy Index (IDI) of Southeast Sulawesi in 2018 reached 74.32 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure has increased compared to the 2017 Southeast Sulawesi IDI figure of 68.51. Southeast Sulawesi's democratic performance achievements are still in the "medium" category. Democracy level classification is grouped into three categories, namely "good" (index> 80), "moderate" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index <60).
  • The change in IDI numbers in Southeast Sulawesi from 2017-2018 was influenced by three aspects of democracy, namely (1) Civil Freedom which rose 2.11 points (from 77.66 to 79.77), (2) Political Rights which rose 7.10 points (from 60.49 to 67.59), and (3) Democratic Institutions which rose 8.42 points (from 69.74 to 78.16).
